Daftari is a private notebook. Your data is yours, it stays on your phone, and we never see it.
What Daftari stores
Daftari stores the information you enter — your customers' names, optional phone numbers and photos, the credit and payments you record, and your app settings — in a private database on your device. Nothing is uploaded to us or to anyone else.
What leaves your phone, and only when you ask
- Reminders: when you tap to send a reminder, the message you see (and can edit first) is handed to your phone's share sheet so you can send it via WhatsApp, SMS, or any app you choose. Daftari does not send it for you and has no messaging server.
- Backups: when you create a backup, Daftari produces a single encrypted file and lets you save it where you choose (local storage, an SD card, a cloud folder, or share it to yourself). The file is encrypted with a passphrase only you know.
- PDF / text statements: generated on your device and shared only through the share sheet when you choose to.
That is the complete list. There is no other transmission of your data.
What Daftari does NOT do
- No account, no sign-up, no login.
- No cloud sync and no servers operated by us.
- No analytics or tracking SDKs that collect your customers, phone numbers, or amounts. (Daftari ships with no third-party analytics in this version.)
- No reading or syncing of your contacts in the background. If you choose "import from contacts", Daftari reads only the single contact you pick, once.
- No advertising and no selling of data — we have none of your data to sell.
Permissions
Daftari requests a permission only at the moment you use the feature that needs it, and remains fully functional if you deny it:
- Camera / Photos — only when you attach a photo to a transaction or customer.
- Contacts — only when you tap "import from contacts" (one contact, once).
- Notifications — only if you enable scheduled reminders.
Security
Backups are encrypted with AES-256-GCM using a key derived from your passphrase with Argon2id. If you lose the passphrase, the backup cannot be recovered — by design, not even by us. You can optionally lock the app with your device biometrics or PIN.
Purchases
Daftari Pro is a one-time purchase processed by Google Play or the Apple App Store. Those stores handle payment; Daftari only receives confirmation that the purchase succeeded.
