DeepBrown — Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 2, 2026

DeepBrown (“the app”) is a sleep-sounds application for Android. This policy explains what data the app handles and with whom it is shared. The short version: we run no servers, create no accounts, and collect no personal data ourselves. The only data leaving your device is what Google’s advertising and billing services process, as described below.

Data we collect

None directly. DeepBrown has no account system, no analytics SDK of our own, and no backend. Your sound mixes, volume levels, timer preferences and theme choice are stored only on your device (Android DataStore) and are deleted when you uninstall the app or clear its data.

Third-party services

Google AdMob (free version only)

The free version shows banner advertising served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect and process:

This data is processed by Google under its own privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy. Details on how Google uses data from apps that use its services: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

You can reset or delete your Advertising ID and opt out of ad personalization in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads.

DeepBrown Pro (one-time purchase) removes all advertising — once unlocked, no ad SDK requests are made.

Google Play Billing

Purchases of DeepBrown Pro are processed entirely by Google Play. We never see your payment details. The app stores only a local flag indicating whether Pro is unlocked, and verifies ownership with Google Play. Google’s handling of payment data is covered by the Google Play Terms of Service and Google’s privacy policy.

Data sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share any data. The only third parties receiving data are Google AdMob and Google Play Billing, as described above, strictly to provide their respective services.

Children

DeepBrown is not directed at children under 13. The app requests non-personalized advertising treatment where required by law (COPPA/GDPR-K handling is delegated to Google AdMob’s mechanisms).

Permissions the app uses

Permission Why
INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE Serving ads (free version) and Play Billing
FOREGROUND_SERVICE, FOREGROUND_SERVICE_MEDIA_PLAYBACK Keeping audio playing with the screen off
POST_NOTIFICATIONS The playback/media notification
WAKE_LOCK Preventing the CPU from suspending mid-playback
USE_EXACT_ALARM / SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM Firing the sleep timer precisely while the device sleeps
AD_ID Google advertising identifier (free version ads)

Data retention & deletion

All app data lives on your device. Uninstalling the app, or clearing its storage in Android Settings, permanently deletes it. There is nothing to delete on any server of ours, because we have none.

Changes to this policy

Material changes will be reflected here with an updated date and, where appropriate, an in-app notice.
